Question: Clicking on your Adsense Ads will terminate you from the Program?

According to section 5 of Google Adsense Terms and Conditions under Prohibited Uses, clicking on your Ad will immediately suspend or terminate your account from using Google Adsense service, and the Google Team is strict or serious about these matter, they don’t like People messing with their Advertising Program.

However, in a rare case in March 2009, when I was Investigating one of my Blog with a low adsense earnings, I accidentally clicked on my own adsense Ad. I was so depressed that time knowingly my account will be terminated soon. Not only that, I am worried that my Earnings that month will not be credited to my account and not to mention my fear of no longer using this Program anymore. I am earning a decent amount from adsense and I am using it to pay my dues until today. This Blog I was mentioning was created from a Blogspot Blog. I deleted this Blog ( it is now non existent ) for I don’t see any relevance and commercial value on it.

I developed this personal Blog for 4 months without targeting any profitable keywords and it receives enough traffic monetized using adsense, but with the high click through ratio It only receives a maximum of 1 cent per click which is not a satisfying amount considering the content was original. One night, I stared to the Homepage of that Blog and I ask my self “what I did I do wrong”, while thinking what to do to that Blog I accidentally tick my own Ad. I landed to a Page unknowingly it was a Public Service page which I only discovered after clicking my Ad. I waited for a Bad sign from Google after that Invalid Click, and luckily, things are normal. It is a relief after a month of waiting for that frustrating moment.

My Conclusion for that Invalid Click

Maybe I was lucky that I landed to a Public Service Ad. Clicking on your own Adsense Ad will not get you banned for some rare Instance like I experienced. What if I landed to an advertised page or a paid Ad?. Can Google Adsense algorithm detect an accidental or non intentional click that will not get you penalized from using their service.

Some Publishers claim they never get banned from using this service after clicking their own ads more than 10 times, I don’t know how did they manage that, they maybe true about it but for me I still follow google adsense terms of service to avoid myself of getting banned.
